Fashion at The Round House

This past Sunday at the Camden Round House... one of my favourite venues in London. I was working for a charity event - the Turning Point Festival. The organisers set it up like a mini Fashion Rocks - as the bands played (VV Brown and Ebony Bones were 2 of the artists in the line up) various designers were showcased in a fashion catwalk show into the crowd. It was great fun watching bands play from backstage as we got the models ready. On the large video screens above the bands flashes of backstage moments of hair and makeup teams getting the models ready were displayed for the crowd. This really gave the crowd a taste of the process getting models ready backstage at a catwalk show!

The designers all lent incredible show pieces. Manish Arora, Avsh Alom Gur & Ludmila Dernovaia were among the 9 designers who lent their clothes to the charity event. As always designing makeup for a show that works with more than one designer can be tricky but I managed to come up with a simple and effective design where it would work for all but also go with the music/rock & roll flavour of a gig atmosphere.

I created a design with a touch of edge-me and my makeup assistant team created a very slick look using the following products- Blacktracks liquid liner from MAC all over the eye in a swooped catlike shape and added a few extra false lashes to the outer corners of the girls eyes for pure sex kitten appeal then we added lots of Boots number 7 mascara...but only to the top lashes as I wanted to keep the area under the eye clean. Then at the sides of the eyes and on top of the cheekbone we added a touch of Boots number 7 skin illuminator in Peach ( which by the way is my new favourite product and I have been rocking this product all over my photo shoots when possible)

Then we used Cosmetics Ala Carte Blusher in Flame for contouring and Cosmetics Ala Carte lipstick in Marshmallow which is a very fleshy nude tone that's opaque with a touch of sheen.
