New London Salon - LedburyMcintyre
I don't believe in bad hair days... if you have a good hairdresser.
I've worked on photo shoots where the models would arrive with damaged and destroyed locks but by the time we were ready to shoot the hairdresser worked their magic and they looked amazing. How many TV programs have we all seen where hairdressers take years off someone just by re-shaping their hairstyle.
A good hairdresser doesn't just cut your hair. They should advise you on what style suits your face shape, hair type and lifestyle. A great hairdresser will "get you"- that is, they will understand and listen to what you want your hair to look like. They should also be able to recommend fantastic products to maintain your tresses. A good hairdresser in my opinion is invaluable.
So that's why I feel I must share some details about one of London's great hairdressers with you - my hairdresser, Lesley McIntyre. I've been getting my hair cut by Lesley for over 4 years. I work in an industry where I can easily get my hair cut for free on a shoot by some fantastic stylists, but I choose to go to Lesley because of her crafty cutting, I have not had a bad hair day in years. My locks are trimmed so beautifully that even on an "off day" I'm still "on"!
I originally found Lesley at London's Windles but she has recently opened up her own shop called LedburyMcintyre with her husband Stephen Ledbury (a fab hairdresser in his own right-formally of trendy salon Bloww)
This new salon is located on London's West Central Street (for those of you old ravers out there, you will know it as across the street from The End night club). I love the atmosphere of the new salon. It's like being in a New York City warehouse. The staff are super bubbly, full of laughter and always look like they're having a great time. Best of all they stock Shu Uemura's new hair products... yes the creator the worlds greatest eyelash curlers also do wicked hair products. I am in love with the full shimmer shampoo and conditioner. It made my hair glisten. Lesley also used the Shu Uemura fiber lift on my roots to add volume... Move over Eva Longoria - I'm worth it now!
