Sleeping Beauty: Pyjama Weather
It's important to me to have a good night's sleep and for the past year I haven't been sleeping very well. So I decided to create some bedtime rituals and routines for myself. It's hard for me to shut down my laptop but I do and that really signifies the end of my day. So bedtime or shutting down is simplified and it doesn't  take a lot to create a routine. It might be as easy as having a cup of camille tea, a hot shower and a nice facial scrub. I think lighting makes a huge difference so I turn off any over head lights and just use lamps creating a relaxing soft space. I might even light a candle while I'm getting ready for bed. I love pyjamas and I'm quite piticular  about them. I can't and don't or won't just sleep in just anything. I was never one to throw on old t-shirt for sleeping no matter how soft and worn it was, nor would I make a quick dash to the corner shop wearing my pyjamas under a coat. It's not because I wouldn't want anyone to see them I just don't think I'd ever really be bothered to run out to the corner shop...I do like my pyjamas to be soft and to match and to have a print and I love these cotton leopard print pjs from Lily and Lionel. On occasion I like socks too. Nothing worse then being cold - the socks can't be too tight or too thick as often I'll need to kick them off when I get warm. I love these soft pink cashmere socks from Chinti and ParkerI like to get a new pair of pyjamas every time I go on a trip, I'm not sure why. I think pyjamas are comforting and also powerful. They've even become trendy as outerwear but I like them just for bed. Maybe I watched too many film with lead film stars like Audrey Hepburn, Katherine Heburn and Sophir Lauren all in pyjamas. When I was little my grandmother always gave me pyjamas for Christmas and then my husband did. Last year I asked my mother to buy me a pair and this year I think I'll buy myself a pair!
