The Manolo Blahnik Tea Party & Press Day
Just before entering Bungalow 8 at the Sanderson you know you're in the right place as you catch a glimpse of a yellow shoe at the end of a long black corridor, enticing you to the tea party. I love a tea party, so I am quite delighted, as any girl would be, on entering the room. It's only showcasing the Autumn/Winter 2013 collection of Manolo Blahnik but there are some very delicious Hummingbird bakery cakes! There are so many delightful and whimsical shoes. Everything is so special but some things do stand out and my photos don't do them justice. There are a grey pair of boots and the colour and the leather are beautiful. You don't often see grey boots as they can look a bit heavy so it's quite a difficult colour to perfect - and the boot does look quite luxurious and of course is a great alternative to black. The second thing that catches my eye was the new last - Manolo does a new one every season (below the red shoes) the heel is very beautiful and has an architectural feel and I wonder if any of this is the influence of Kristina Blahnik, the niece of Manolo Blahnik but also his "left-hand" woman, who is also an architect.
