Pasar Santa (Santa Market) in Jakarta

In Jakarta things seem to happen quickly as many of the stalls in Pasar Santa (Jalan Cisanggiri II, Indonesia) only opened a few weeks ago. The market was originally known for selling vegetables, fruit and household items but then several stalls opened on the top floor and started to attract a younger hipper clientele and more stalls quickly opened, some of them are quite small (2x2 meters) but it gave young people an opportunity to open their own business. If you're looking for youth culture in Jakarta Pasar Santa is the place to find it. Outside around the market there are lots places to eat and all-night flower shops. Inside there are record shops, lots of vintage and cool t-shirt shops and then there are so many amazing food stalls. Most of the stalls are run by the owners. I'd recommend going to Claypot Popo - they have a rice and chicken dish cooked with corn and bamboo - it's not really fast food but it's delicious and worth the wait, also the hot dogs are quite popular and have the longest queue.  I'd then suggest visiting the crème brûlée stand. Much to my surprise crème brûlée is quite a popular dessert here and you can even have a Nutella crème brûlée.
